For All Moonkind

Recognized under Tier 10 — Martian Law & Finance, For All Moonkind is a nonprofit organization of space lawyers, diplomats, and technical experts working to extend cultural heritage protection to sites and artifacts beyond Earth, holding Permanent Observer status at the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. The organization is developing a new international convention modeled on the World Heritage Convention and the Underwater Cultural Heritage Convention, pursuing a staged approach of mapping, identifying, and formally recognizing heritage sites before seeking multilateral agreement. In July 2026 it submitted a formal written consultation to the UN working group examining Article XI of the Outer Space Treaty, addressing how states might voluntarily share information on lunar artifacts, infrastructure, and sites. As landing zones, habitats, and eventually settlements multiply across the Moon and Mars, the precedent-setting question of which sites are protected from disturbance — and under what legal authority — is one For All Moonkind's framework is built to answer.
