Recognized under Tier 2 — In-Situ Resource Utilization, OffWorld is a company developing AI-guided, rugged robots originally built for terrestrial heavy industry and mining, with a stated goal of adapting the same platforms for autonomous extraction work on the Moon, Mars, and asteroids. Its European subsidiary, OffWorld Europe, has signed a multi-year development agreement with the Luxembourg Space Agency to build an in-situ resource utilization processing system focused on ice deposits, covering modules for extracting, processing, and storing oxygen and hydrogen from lunar volatiles and water. The company has been a recipient of U.S. National Science Foundation funding and continues to fund robot development through private industrial contracts.
