Redwire Space

Deployable structures; in-space additive manufacturing

Accomplishments

Recognized under Tier 3 — Structural Habitats, Redwire Space is a Florida-based, publicly traded (NYSE: RDW) manufacturer of deployable structures and in-space manufacturing systems, including the Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) technology adapted into the ISS's iROSA power upgrades and the only commercial 3D-printing facility currently operating aboard the ISS. Redwire supplies structural hardware across the emerging commercial station market, including roll-out solar arrays for Axiom Station's first module and docking mechanisms for Thales Alenia Space's Lunar I-Hab habitation module on the lunar Gateway. The company also holds a five-year, roughly $45 million Air Force Research Laboratory contract to advance large deployable structures and thermal management technologies. Redwire's combination of flight-proven deployable structural hardware and demonstrated in-space manufacturing capability — building components in orbit rather than launching them fully assembled — addresses the mass and logistics constraints that will shape how habitats and infrastructure are built for a Mars settlement.
