Recognized under Tier 1 — Interplanetary Logistics, SpaceX is the developer of Falcon 9, the most-flown reusable orbital rocket in operation, and Dragon, the crew and cargo spacecraft that has carried NASA astronauts to the International Space Station under the Commercial Crew Program since 2020. Its Starship system — a fully reusable, stainless-steel super-heavy launcher — has flown a series of orbital test flights and is the vehicle around which SpaceX's Mars ambitions are built; as of mid-2026, in-orbit propellant transfer, the technical prerequisite for deep-space missions, has not yet been demonstrated at scale. The company has targeted the late-2026 Earth-Mars transfer window for an uncrewed Starship attempt, while Elon Musk has also signaled a shift toward lunar buildout as a nearer-term priority. Starship's reusability and payload capacity make it the leading candidate for bulk cargo and eventual crew transport to Mars.
