Michael Gold

Recognized under Tier 10 — Martian Law & Finance, Michael Gold has done highly influential work in space policy and international space governance. As a key architect of the Artemis Accords — the bilateral and multilateral agreements establishing norms of behavior for civil space exploration, including provisions on resource extraction, transparency, and interoperability — and through a previous role at NASA as Associate Administrator for International and Interagency Relations, Gold has helped shape the emerging international policy framework that will govern human activities on the Moon, Mars, and beyond. The Artemis Accords represent a concrete, consequential step toward the governance architecture that Mars colonization will require.
